Help Me Support the Fight Against HIV/AIDS!
Hello everyone!
My name's Cameron, I'm 25 years old, and this will be my fifth year participating in the PWA Friends for Life Bike Rally! Raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, ON, I currently live in Montréal, where I work in urban planning.
Over the past few years, I have grown to love cycling both as a sport and as a lifestyle. As an amateur road cyclist, I have participated in a few tours, century rides, and even a criterium race and some velodrome training. Through my studies in urban planning, my love for cycling came to the forefront as I try to envision ways to integrate cycling and other sustainable forms of transport into our urban environments; in the effort to make our cities (and lives) more enjoyable and reduce our environmental impact.
As a gay man, finding ways to support the LGBTQ+ community (both locally and globally) is of the utmost importance to me. One way I'm able to support is by using my love for cycling to raise money in support of those living with HIV/AIDS both in Montréal and in the region between my two homes. We must not forget that, even after the pandemic, there are other worldwide health issues going on at this time, and that those living with HIV/AIDS face stigmatisation and discrimination in their daily lives.
All of my donations go directly to AIDS Community Care Montréal (ACCM), a local organisation that provides services and treatment to those living with HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis C. I hope to be able to meet (and perhaps exceed!) my goal of $3000. Any donations are very much appreciated, but even the sharing of this page is extremely important. Thank you and see you on the road soon!
Love, Cameron
