I fractured my leg badly in Feb 2020, resulting in health complications, so I spent the first year of the pandemic in rehab: wheelchair, then slowly walking with 2 canes; I'm still doing physio on my own since 2023  I did the one day ride in 2016 and 2018; I returned to the bike rally as crew 2 years ago, with great help and encouragement from fellow crew members Tim and Jehd. Rehab, spin classes and short outdoor rides, to build my strength; I'm determined to complete the 1-day ride again this year. I'm riding in memory of my bike rally partner of many years, Derek Yee. He passed away during the pandemic. 

This event is important to me because the money raised goes to help people living with HIV/AIDS. People who need food, wellness care, peer support or just to be in a place that is welcoming and safe for them.
