Welcome to my Friends for Life Bike Rally page!

I am so excited to be part of the 2025 Friends for Life Bike Rally in support of people living with HIV/AIDS. I love cycling and for me this a wonderful way to put the time I spend on my bike towards a great cause. I hope you'll help support my fundraising efforts with a donation.  

The Friends for Life Bike Rally is an annual 6 day ride (August 3rd to 8th) from Toronto to Montreal. It is the only volunteer-led ride, that brings people together for an inclusive and supportive challenge that inspires much-needed help for people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto, Kingston and Montréal.

The challenges facing HIV + people are numerous and complex, and while treatment options have improved, unfortunately there is still no cure.  Many people living with HIV experience immense stigma and discrimination and challenges with accessing affordable medication, housing and food. Consequently, they face social isolation, substance use challenges, barriers to settling in Canada, and much more.  In November I was at a 94th birthday party for my husband's uncle.  We discussed how many of his friends died of AIDs when it first became a misunderstood epidemic.  Sadly, in many places in Africa it is still the 8th leading cause of death.
