In 2024 I embarked on what turned out to be a life-changing and eye-opening experience. That was the first year I embarked on the Bike Rally from Toronto to Montreal, in support of PWA - People With Aids Foundation Toronto.
Since its founding in 1987 in the height of the AIDS crisis, PWA's primary focus has been engaging with people living with HIV/AIDS, providing practical and therapeutic help to people most in need. Their mission has expanded in recent years to include other forms of practical assistance to the broader community, offering financial assistance, affordable essentials, food assistance and counselling.
While I was well aware of the organization and its mission for a long time, participating in the Bike Rally gave me the opportunity to meet many people who have directly benefited from PWA's services in difficult moments in their lives. This was truly eye-opening, and strengthened my belief in the mission ever more. With this in mind I decided to support this organization for many more years to come!
