I’M BACK! After a break last summer I'm excited to be returning for my second year riding 600KM from Toronto to Montreal in the Friends for Life Bike Rally in support of people living with HIV/AIDS.
The rally started in 1999 to address a funding crisis at PWA. Since that time it has become the sustaining fundraiser for PWA, with thousands of riders and crew in its 26 year history.
The 2023 rally was a great experience. I was grateful to be riding with so many who had been involved for more than 20 years. Months of training and camping in the rain were worth it to honour those lost and to support those now living with HIV/AIDS.
Many people living with HIV experience immense stigma and discrimination and challenges with accessing life-saving affordable medication, housing and food. Consequently, they face social isolation, barriers to settling in Canada, and much more.
The money raised goes to help those who need food, wellness care, peer support or just to be in a place that is welcoming and safe for them.
2 years ago, my initial goal was $3500. By the end of the ride, I raised $6100!
I’m challenging myself - and you! Help me to raise $6500 for this worthy charity!
This cause is close to my heart and I hope you can help support my fundraising efforts by making a secure online donation using your credit card.
