Help me raise money for people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto!
The Friends for Life Bike Rally is a six day, 600+ km (380 miles for my USAmerican friends) bike ride from Toronto to Montreal from August 3 to August 8 to raise money for people living with HIV/AIDS. This is the 27th year of the rally and I'm thrilled to participate for the first time this year.
While I'm training to prepare for the ride (sorry to disappoint, but I'm not riding a child-sized penny-farthing!), you can help support the cause by making a secure online donation using your credit card. I had originally set a goal to raise at least $100 to commemorate each year of the ride, for a total of $2700, but thanks to so many generous donors, I've reached that goal already! I'm incredibly grateful for the support, and am increasing my fundraising goal to $4000 in the hopes of raising even more money for PWA. Any donations made before June 15th will be matched by an anonymous donor, so your donation will go twice as far towards helping out PWA.
PWA is a Toronto-based non-profit organization that provides direct support for people living with HIV/AIDS in the form of food, wellness care, peer support or just to be in a place that is welcoming and safe for them. Find out more at https://www.pwatoronto.org
I'm really looking forward to the ride and the especially for the chance to listen and learn more about the work that PWA Toronto (along with Trellis HIV & Community Care in Kingston and AIDS Community Care Montréal) are continuing to do.
