For the nineteenth consecutive year, I’m taking part in the Friends for Life Bike Rally, with a personal goal of raising $10,000. We will depart Toronto on August 2 and ride more than 600km to Montreal over the course of six days.
“As long as there’s a reason, there’s a ride.”
With proper treatment and support, people living with HIV can live long and healthy lives. We know now that Undetectable = Untransmittable, U=U. This means that if someone’s HIV viral load is made undetectable by regular HIV treatment, they can’t pass HIV on sexually.
In order to achieve undetectability, though, people living with HIV depend daily
on expensive medications, safe and affordable housing, accessible medical care, a livable income and a caring community. For many, these necessary foundations aren’t in place, so they turn to HIV organizations for help.
You can help ensure support is there for people living with HIV, and your donation will help build a community that actively destroys HIV stigma. I cannot help but believe this to be a most worthwhile cause, and ask that you lend your support if you can. Every little bit helps, and tax receipts are available for Canadian donations of any amount.
