Hello, friend! Welcome to my Friends for Life Bike Rally page!
The 2026 Bike Rally will be my tenth, and my fifth year as a team co-captain. When I first rode from Toronto to Montreal in 2017, I hadn’t anticipated that I would still be riding nearly a decade later. But here we are, and I am just as excited to be riding again in 2026 as I was in 2017, and helping other participants have as meaningful experience as I have had.
I started riding to honour the memory of two close school friends, Peter and Ian, who both died of AIDS far too young twenty-five years ago. But it has since come to mean so much more to me, because above all, the Bike Rally is for the living. People who rely on the supports provided by the organizations we fund to live healthy and dignified lives. People who every day still face stigma and apathy from the wider world. People who need food, wellness care, peer support, or just to be in a place that is welcoming and safe for them. They're part of our community, and they deserve our support. And with increasing pressure on the HIV/AIDS sector everywhere, with organization closures and shrinking fundraising dollars, that community support is more important than ever.
I have made a long-term commitment to myself to be part of the Bike Rally for as long as I am able. This cause is close to my heart, and I hope you can join me in supporting it and my fundraising efforts with a donation. You can do that by making a secure online donation using your credit card. Thank you, and have a great day!
