Every year I look forward to a week of sweating, chafing, camping, dirt, and, yes, sometimes injuries. I give up my weekends starting in the spring to go on training rides, dodging cars and learning that places like Thornhill should really be called Thorn-all-hills.
Because it is important to me, and important for the people who rely on PWA. We are in an affordability crisis but for people in the lower economic rungs, it is an affordability catastrophe, and PWA is frequently the difference between being able to eat or not, to have medication or not, even to live or not.
To paraphrase Stefon of SNL fame, this non-profit helps everyone: Refugees, the unhoused, people of colour, LGBTQ folks. They do they best to not turn away anyone in need and think outside the box.
So, please. Donate. I'll give you cookies and hugs. Ok, I would probably do that anyway, but those hugs are gonna be much tighter, and you'll get a tax receipt.
