Now in its 26th year, the Friends for Life Bike Rally is a volunteer-driven fundraiser in support of people living with HIV/AIDS - helping to provide many services including food, wellness care, peer support and a safe and welcoming space. The rally begins on August 4th 2024 in Toronto, with options of a six day ride to Montreal, three day ride to Kingston, or one day ride to Port Hope.
This will be my first year participating in the rally, and I am excited to be training for the 600k ride to Montreal. My back and legs ache just writing that! Joining the rally has allowed me the opportunity to contribute to a great cause while also challenging myself after recently turning 65. All donations raised will be going to the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation. PWA is a community-based, registered charitable organization that was formed in the mid 1980s over frustration with the lack of services for people living with HIV/AIDS. PWA continues to offer practical supports for the complex needs people living with HIV face in their day to day lives.
You can help me reach my fundraising goals by making a secure online donation using your credit card. As a volunteer in the HIV/AIDS community for over thirty years, this is a cause I believe strongly in and I hope you can join me in supporting it!
