I am riding for Stephen Katz. I met him as a young teenager and I remember being very excited to meet a playright and theatre director in person!
"Stephen soon became known as a director and designer in Toronto’s burgeoning early ’70s theatre scene. The director John Hirsch suggested that he move to New York, which he did in 1980 before returning to Toronto in 1985...
Two years later, he was diagnosed with AIDS-related pneumonia."

Stephen died November 18, 1989.
This event is important to me because the money raised goes to help people living with HIV/AIDS. People who need food, wellness care, peer support or just to be in a place that is welcoming and safe for them.
